Making sure that you have a clean barbecue is an important part of owning and using a BBQ. Regular barbecue cleaning will ensue that your food will taste better and you will prolong the life of your barbecue. Regular maintenance and cleaning will also allow you to pick up any flaws or damaged areas of the seals, hoses and gas pipes which will ensure a safer barbecuing experience.
A good, clean barbecue regime should include a rudimentary clean and check every time you cook, and a more thorough barbecue cleaning once or twice a year. It’s a simple process that will include removing excess food particles from the grill, turning off and disconnecting the gas supply, disconnecting the ignition wires, removing the BBQ components such as the flame guards and gas pipes. Then checking for wear and damage, cleaning the components, cleaning the interior and exterior of the barbecue, reinstalling the components and you’re good to go.
I have included a video detailing the steps to maintaining a clean barbecue. You will see that barbecue cleaning isn’t difficult, doesn’t take very long, and is imperative to keeping a healthy and safe BBQ.
